Crazy Hair and a Cute Shirt

Kylie's hair is now getting long enough for her to have bedhead when she wakes up. It was like this even after I combed it.

Kylie in a cute shirt she got from her godmother for Christmas.

Future Baylor Bear???

I dressed Kylie in her pink Baylor shirt that she got in baby bear basket (from Baylor) when she was born. Think she looks like a future Baylor Bear???

How will she pay for her future college education????
With money from daddy's wallet of course!!! She already has the credit card in hand ready to use.

Kylie's 2nd Halloween

Kylie dressed up as a ladybug for Halloween. It was her second Halloween, but her first Halloween to go trick or treating. She had a blast. We went with our neighbors. Kylie and the neighbor's daughter, Cameron, rode together in the wagon. They had so much fun. Cameron would make a funny face or sound and Kylie would start laughing so hard.
We first walked around our neighborhood and then headed over to a neighborhood in Hewitt. Kylie and Cameron held their pumpkins the entire night. They did not want to let them out of their sight. They liked switching candy back and forth between their buckets. We walked quite a long way, and we were all exhausted by the time we got back to our vehicles. We got over really late, and of course Kylie went to sleep as soon as her head hit her crib mattress. She was so tired, that she slept until 9:15 this morning. That is probably the latest she has ever slept. Kylie can't wait to dig in her bucket for a candy treat after lunch!!

Kylie's First Pony Ride

This past Friday, we took Kylie to the fair. It was her second time to go, but the last time she went she was only a few months old. This time she was able to enjoy it. She sat in her stroller the entire time and loved to see all of the lights and people. We went with our friends who live across the street, and their cousin. We had a blast. We walked around the entire fair just looking at everything. We looked at the cows, we "window" shopped at the booths, and looked at all of the rides that the guys were too scared to ride on.
Kylie was the only one who rode any rides. She rode a pony for the first time. She LOVED it! Joe walked around the pony ride with her and she was smiling the entire time. He said we he first put her on the saddle she seemed at little uneasy, but as soon as they strapped her she started to smile. She would have taken a longer ride if they let her. After the pony ride, Joe took Kylie in the petting zoo. She didn't want anything to do with those animals. She held on to Joe the entire time. We spent the rest of our time at the fair at the big screen next to the mechanical bull. We stood and watched some of the Ranger/Yankee game for a little while, and then headed home.

The picture below is of her on her pony ride. Even though it is blurry because I took it with my cellphone (because I didn't think to take the camera), you can still see her big smile.

Cute Pictures

Also an update to my last post. Kylie is now a walker. She took her first steps the day she turned 15 months old. She only took a few, but she is getting better. Once she figures it out she will be running in no time. Hard to believe how big she is!!!

Almost There

We almost have a walker. Kylie now holds one of my fingers and walks, but if I let go she drops to the ground and crawls. We are almost there!! She doesn't walk very far, but anything is good progress. She can pull up to everything so it should be any day now.

My poor baby had her second ear infection. Thankfully it was only one ear this time. We got her antibiotics and some other ear medicine, and she is doing much better. Strange thing is that she didn't even act sick once she got to the doctor's office. I guess she figured if she acted fine, she wouldn't have to get a shot...hehe. After only two and a half days on the medicine she is back to her hyper self. It was nice to have her cuddle with me when she felt bad, but I am glad she is back to being her happy and energetic self.

KJ's newest accomplishments/stats:
  • 21 lbs and 6 oz, and 31 inches long (tall and skinny)
  • She can still wear 6-9 month clothes.
  • Can drink from a straw
  • Can climb up on the couch if she wants (we try not to encourage this)
  • Pulls up to anything and everything she can. Her favorite is the fridge to play with the magnets.
  • Has more teeth than I can count. The last time I counted there were nine, but I know more have popped up since
  • Loves to eat anything you give her. Her favorites are: mac and cheese, bananas, and applesauce.

Messy!!!

Kylie had her first experience with real spaghetti the other night. She has only been eating the baby food kind and loves it so we thought she might like the real thing. We only gave her a few noodles, and she did pretty good. She kind of had a hard time getting the noodles to stay in her mouth, but after a while she got the hang of it. After the few noodles we gave her the baby food kind and let her eat with her hands. That was first. She had a blast eating with her hands and making a mess!!!! Her hand, face, and belly were red from all of the sauce.
Spaghetti for dinner means a second bath for Kylie Jo.
Love that messy face!!!

Growing Up

Kylie is growing so fast. It is hard to believe that she is already 13 1/2 months old.

Kylie's Latest Accomplishments:

  • Signs the word "More" when she wants more of something to eat/drink
  • She now has 9 teeth. I found the 9th tooth today while she was eating a snack.
  • When you say "Arms Up" she does it
  • Points to what she wants and says "uh" which I guess it her word for "I want"
  • Stands up by herself when she is playing on our bed/or any other big bed. She doesn't do it much on the floor I guess because it is not as soft. Can we say "spoiled"...just kidding.
  • Has been riding in a forward facing carseat since last month and she loves it.
  • Turns the satellite for the tv on and off and knows which button to push to do it
  • She still uses a sippy cup, but now she likes to drinks from a regular cup (kind of messy, but we learned to only put a little liquid in it)
Favorite Things:
  • Vanilla Wafers (she could eat them any time of the day if we let her)
  • Eating anything off Mommy and Daddy's plate even when she just ate
  • She likes avocados just like mommy and mac and cheese (the real stuff not the baby food kind)
  • Mommy and Daddy's sunglasses (she takes them off our head and puts them on her)
  • Reading books
  • Buttons of any kind
  • Her stuffed kitty cat that rides in the car with her
  • Looking at pictures of herself on Mommy's cellphone (she hands me the phone and says "uh")
  • Waving and smiling at everybody she meets
  • Going to YaYa's house to play with YaYa and Uncle Ryan
  • Making a mess of toys in the living room (We call her "Hurricane Kylie" after she is done playing)

ONE YEAR OLD!!!

Kylie Jo is now one year old! I can't believe it. It doesn't feel like it has been a year. Time has gone by so fast. It feels like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. She is growing up fast and I love watching her grow and learn. She is everywhere these days. She doesn't like to sit still for very long.
We had her first birthday party this past weekend. It was exhausting (for me and my mom), but fun! Kylie got so many presents. Most of which make noises. She has all kinds of buttons to push, books to read, and clothes to wear. She had her very first cupcake at her party. She loved it! At first she wasn't to sure, but then she took the whole thing and tried to put it in her mouth. She ate most of it and then ate a little icing off a second cupcake. She is a fan of sweets like her mommy.
Here she is getting the icing on the second cupcake.
Yum Yum

Here she is in her pretty party dress and
sitting below the banner her mommy made her for her party

Here is her "cake". I made all of the cupcakes...all 91 of them
(that is how many four boxes of mix made)

Just another picture because I think it is really cute :)
I love her in her overalls.

Kylie Jo,
I'm glad you had a great birthday party. It was exhausting, but I would do it over and over again for you. I can't wait to continue watching you grow and learn new things every day. Just don't grow up too fast!
Love,
Mommy

Almost One

Almost a year ago to the day I posted how I was ready for Kylie to come. Now she has been here for almost a year, and I don't know what I would do without her. I didn't know how much I could love someone until I met her. I cannot believe she is turning one year old on Thursday.

Here she is in the 4D ultrasound.

Here she is at 10 1/2 months.

I hope to post year pics soon. Her birthday party is next week and she is ready to have her first cupcake :):)

These past 12 months have flown by!

Happy 1st Birthday Kylie Jo...our sweet and lovable Kylie Bugs!
Mommy and Daddy love you very much and are proud that you are our daughter.

Smiley Kylie

Love these pictures!!! They were taken by one of my co-workers at our yearly police party.
This was a very long day for us, but you can't tell my Miss Kylie's smile. We were outside from 10a-5p on this day, and she loved it. We spent the first part of the day at at family function by the lake and the second part was the PD party. She is such a ham. Everyone thought it was so funny that as soon as the camera was pointed at her, she would start cheesing. Hope she always does this when she gets her picture taken. She is a very very happy baby (if you can't tell by the pics). Love those baby blues!!
In a little over a month she will be a year old. Hard to believe it. She is all over the place and getting into everything...and I mean everything. Her favorite thing to do is stand up at the coffee table and bang the remote controls and coasters on it and then let them fall to the ground. Good thing the coasters are not breakable. She has also started walking along the table when she sees something at the other end that she thinks she needs to have.

Another picture of the Cutie Pie

I know the picture is not the best quality, but still very cute :)

It is hard to believe my little baby is going to be a year old in less than two months. She is now all over the place...more than before. She now crawls on her knees when she wants to, but is still very fast doing her army crawl. She likes to "run" (crawl really fast) away from me when she is trying to get somewhere she is not suppose to be (like the bench next to the tv or the hearth). She keeps us busy.

Stand Up!!

Kylie's newest accomplishment
Last night she crawled over to a box in the living room and pulled herself up. She then bent down and sat down. She is very proud of herself, and so are we. She is getting so big! We also had to lower her bed so she can't climb out. We actually had to lower it by two levels because she is so tall. Can't believe my little baby is going to be a year old in less than three months.

9 Months

Miss Kylie Jo is now 9 months old. Where has the time gone? She is growing up so fast! She had her 9 month check up this past Friday and she is 15 lbs and 30 inches tall. Six more inches and she will be three feet tall!!! I think she weighs she about the same as a 6 month old. The doctor said her height and weight are growing at the same speed so everything is good. She eats every three hours so I know she gets plenty to eat. She loves to eat!!!

Facts about Kylie Jo:

  • Can crawl...when she wants to (she does the "army crawl" or as I refer to it as... the "Kylie Crawl")

  • Likes to sit on her playmat and play with her toys

  • Has 4 teeth. Two on top and two on bottom

  • Loves to play her tambourine (which is now broken b/c Daddy accidentally stepped on hit when she hid it under her playmat) and maraca.

  • Loves to shop with Mommy and Daddy

  • Is a people person...she loves smiling at everybody...especially when they tell her that she is cute:)

  • Loves whatever food she is given. Really likes fruits and her puffs.

  • Likes when Mommy gives her water from a straw. As soon as she sees the straw, she opens her mouth until I give her some water.

  • Loves to jibber jabber. No actual words yet, but plenty of "Kylie" words.

  • Loves to be held. Reaches for just about anybody to hold her.

  • Likes to play with jewelry that Mommy or YaYa is wearing or Daddy's glasses

  • Likes to play with the remote control and Mommy's cellphone

  • Even if she is crying, as soon as she sees the camera she is all smiles.

  • Loves to smile...she even has a fake cheesy smile (makes me laugh everytime)

Kylie loves the Boston Red Sox just like her Daddy!

Smiles

Kylie loves the camera! Even when she is crying all I have to do is get out the camera or my cellphone with the camera, and she starts smiling. She is such a ham! I love her big smile. She smiles so big that it makes my cheeks hurt. These pictures are not the best quality, but they are still cute.

Can't believe my little baby is almost 8 months old! Time is going by way too fast! She is almost crawling. She likes to get on all fours and rock back and forth, and then she launches herself in the direction she wants to go. Any day now she will be crawling all over the place.

Six Month Checkup

Kylie had her six month checkup on January 8th. She is 26 1/4 inches tall and 13lbs 3oz. She is tiny! I think she takes after her mama (at least when I was younger). The doctor said her weight doesn't really match her height. She needs to weigh more. She eats every three hours, but is constantly kicking or moving around so she doesn't gain any weight (I wish I had that problem). The doctor also started her on solid foods which he said will help her gain weight. We started her on oatmeal which she likes, and yesterday she got her first taste of bananas and strawberries. I think she really liked that. We are trying to give her a new kind of food every week to get her to try everything. We want to make sure she isn't allergic to anything. It didn't take her long to master the spoon. She gets excited when I am making her oatmeal and will try and get the bowl before I can mix it up. She eats a bowl full in less than 15 minutes. We got her a high chair yesterday so now she can eat at the table like us. My dad bought her the high chair and I know she is going to love eating at the table like everyone else does (when we do get to eat as a family).

KYLIE FACTS:

  • Loves to "talk" all of the time (I wonder where she gets that from)

  • Has two teeth on the bottom front

  • Loves to smile and play

  • Wakes up happy...she is defintely a morning person

  • Can sit up by herself without help

  • Can hold her own bottle

  • Trying to crawl

  • Likes to stand while holding onto our fingers

  • Still sleeps all night (thank goodness)

  • Takes her pacifier in and out of her mouth constantly

  • Likes to chew on the opposite side of the pacifier
(as seen in the picture below)

  • Loves baby food (at least the ones she has tried so far)

  • Likes to hang out with daddy and watch NCIS

  • Likes to give kisses to mommy and daddy and eskimo kisses to YaYa

  • She is still the best baby in the world (in my opinion)

She is getting so big. I always tell her not to grow up too fast. It is hard to believe that in less than 6 months she will be turning one!

I LOVE her smile and laugh.
